a weekend in Hyeres

Come join our series ‘a Weekend in Amsterdam’, where we asked inspiring women to share the hotspots of their beloved hometown. Favourite places to take the family to eat, drink, shop or to just enjoy the outside.

Growing up in the countryside, Repose AMS’s founder In-Yeo was always fascinated by the city. Moving to Amsterdam was the best decision she ever made and turned her into a true city gal. “All the perks the city has to offer;

it simply makes me happy”, she says.

A Weekend in Hyères

Spending a weekend in Hyères with my daughters, dressed in Repose AMS, is always a precious experience. Between cultural discoveries, nature, and small family pleasures, this city, where we have lived for 10 years, has so much to offer.

The day began with a visit to Villa Noailles, a masterpiece of modern architecture built in the 1920s. This iconic place hosts the annual Design Parade, a design and fashion festival that attracts creators from around the world. The villa, with its sleek lines and enchanting gardens, is the perfect setting to explore innovative exhibitions and enjoy a cultural moment with the family.

On our way to the port, we took a little detour through the streets of Old Hyères. We love strolling around and stopping by the small local shops, perfect for finding treasures. A simple moment, but one that adds a special touch to our family outing. On the way back, a quick stop at the local supermarket is a must!

In the late afternoon, we headed to the Rivière de la Castille for a picnic in nature. It’s a magical place, especially at sunset, surrounded by vineyards. You can also try the tree-climbing course and pony rides, making it a perfect spot for the kids!

The next morning, we visited the Hyères market, where we love buying local vegetables and discovering fresh products for our meals. The atmosphere is warm, and there is always something new to explore.

The Hyères port's Mango Bay was the perfect place for lunch. In this family-friendly restaurant, you'll find delicious dishes served in a friendly environment. As we enjoyed the beautiful view of the water, the kids played in the small playgrounds around the port.

In the afternoon, we explored the Hyères Salt Pans. This site is ideal for observing flamingos and enjoying preserved nature. Luckily, there was a special festival that day, with games for the kids, creative workshops, and a mini farm. The girls loved participating in all the activities.

To wrap up our weekend, we visited La Capte, a charming seaside village. With its many restaurants, cafes, and small shops, it’s the perfect place for a final family stroll. We took the time to explore the local boutiques and enjoy one last seaside meal.
