Christmas market with Irati

Christmas in Baiona with Irati Ayerza, Udai, 7 and Inhar, 10

During these dates, we enjoy visiting Lapurdi's capital city to do some Christmas shopping.

The morning began with a visit to Baiona's cathedral (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) and shopping. A classic and a delight for the kids is the Christmas showcase at Galeries Lafayette; get some cheese and chocolate (at Chocolate Puyodebat), and walk around to visit the deco shops.

In the afternoon, we walked along the Nive riverbank, Le Petit Baiona, and the Marché de Noel after eating in Les Halles. The Ferris Wheel at the Fair that they install by these dates is ideal for enjoying the landscape from above, though we weren't able to enjoy it this time due to rain and cold.
